Bristol Associates Inc. in partnership with Spectrum Gaming Group conducted the 21st Annual Casino Gaming Executive Satisfaction Survey in September and October 2021. The survey is an annual resource that provides gaming professionals the opportunity to share their views on their workplace and the industry at large. This year’s iteration of the survey included questions related to the ongoing pandemic, job search and resignation reasons, and work-at-home preferences. The survey received a total of 1,419 unique online responses.
Overall, gaming professionals’ optimism and satisfaction declined last year. In 2021, 70% of casino professionals felt optimistic about the future of their careers, a 10% drop from 2020. Furthermore, the average level of agreement with the statement regarding employee optimism is the lowest since 2011. The complete employee satisfaction results can be found in the full report.
Though the results indicate that most gaming organizations do not require proof of vaccination or negative Covid-19 test results to enter the premises, 35% require verification from its employees while 21% require it from guests and visitors. Respondents were also asked about their perceived safety working on-site and in person at their organization regarding Covid-19. Visual A shows the breakdown in percentages. Nine out of 10 employed on-site or hybrid (can work remotely part-time) workers feel safe working in person at their organization. The lower the job level, the less safe professionals feel working on-site. This is evident as 8% of “Corporate #1 – President” and 6% of “Property #1 – General Manager” executives feel unsafe, while 37% of “Corporate #4 – Staff and All Others” and 38% of “Property #4 – Staff and All Others” respondents share the same opinion.
