Yes, it is that time again. The olympics, politics and leap year all happened (or at least were supposed to happen) this year. It is also 2020, which is that mythical year when we were supposed to have self-flying cars and robots to take care of our needs. Well since it is 2020, and although we have made great strides in those areas, we still haven’t hit the vision that we all seem to have had for this year. I find it fascinating that we tend to be pushing the future into existence at an ever increasing pace, yet it never seems fast enough for our perceived need.
I look around and see some of the same weird and petty arguments about some of the weirdest and pettiest things even with all this progress. Let’s take the election process for example; I am not going to jump from side to side and talk about one party over the other, but I am going to say one thing…wow! Everyone seems really, really, angry about some really mundane things. Our President is a tweeting fanatic, and everyone seems mad about that. The Democratic Party is fighting so much that it scares me, and I keep wondering if Jerry Springer is going to run out on stage to stop a fistfight. People just seem to be unreasonably angry about… well everything.
