Not Business as Usual, but Who’s Complaining?
In March of 2020, my company developed a COVID-19 solution for the Gaming & Hospitality community. It helped hundreds of hotels and casinos reopen and allowed us to keep our team members employed while doing so. We built a robust platform for checking temperatures, a pre-screening application, and a security check-in system. We were lucky enough to win an award with G&L for it, and the patrons and team members who use the solutions really seem to love it. Sounds like an awesome year, right? I would not say that we, like many other companies, are fighting each day to make it through this war with the invisible enemy.
Working Remotely – A Blessing and a Curse
Since the pandemic hit, it’s really hard to get an in-person meeting scheduled, and most everyone is working from home. Don’t get me wrong, there are some perks to working from home, but after a while your only wish is to go back to the office. Also, I never thought I would miss being a road warrior, but I do — I can’t wait to take a customer trip and have a nice steak dinner with some industry friends. Until then, it will be Zoom meetings galore.
