So many times, I have sat in front of this blank page and tried to decide what I should be typing, and oddly enough, something springs from my fingers. I could write a crazy story about a three-legged giraffe, or a toothpick named Wilson, or even a story about how to be a better leader or a way to see the world and the people around you a bit differently. I have been fortunate that I have that ability because it has helped me write my story over and over. Just like everyone around me, I am constantly rewriting what I know and believe daily.
Recently I started a new position, and it has reminded me that no matter how many times we build a company or take over a team or become a new employee, the chapter is never quite the same. I personally have had some great chapters, filled with drama and suspense, comedy and romance, and even some horror – sometimes more horror than I would like, but that is what keeps the job interesting. Or should I say life. After all, that is what we are doing here anyway. Creating a life.
Throughout this journey I have seen dedication to work that borders on insanity, and dedication to home life that borders on decadent. Oddly enough, I’ve seen that in myself more than anywhere else.
