For example, you may have heard or experienced a scenario where a manager says, “Let me give you some coaching around ABC,” and then explains to an employee why they failed to accomplish a task, followed by how ABC needs to be done.
More often than not, the recipient of this so-called “coaching” walks away disillusioned, deflated, and unmotivated by what they perceived as a coaching experience.
