I was a CPA when I was a ‘kid’, so admittedly I may be a little biased when I say numbers matter. But after moving from accounting into operations, and ultimately running businesses, I came to appreciate them very differently.
You don’t have to be a CPA. You don’t have to be a CFO. And you certainly don’t need to understand every line on a financial statement.
But if you’re responsible for running a business, a property, a division, or even a significant department, there are some numbers you really should know without asking your CFO.
Why? Because they tell you what’s actually happening in your business.
