Our 2025 forecast for brick-and-mortar gaming (no sports/online betting)
2024 has been a difficult year of slow/no-growth for many gaming properties, especially regionals and we expect much of the same for 2025. The YTD through third quarter of 2024, shows only states with brick/mortar expansion and/or the addition of online casino and sport betting showing growth. 2024 gaming results have weakened due to higher interest rates causing inflation and lower employment rates have occurred. Outside any Black Swan event, given the current economic circumstances forecasted into 2025:
- Our 2025 national forecast for brick/mortar same-store-sales is for a range of growth from low negative growth to slight/moderate positive growth (-2% to +2%) for 2025 versus 2024. Conversely, total national gaming (including sports and online gaming as well as new brick/mortar jurisdictions) would help national growth to the +2% to +3% range.
