It was just over a year ago in April of 2019 when the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Caesars Entertainment announced the creation of this new 43,000 square-foot innovation space that would be located in a state-of-the art building in the Harry Reid Research and Technology Park. This area of southwest Las Vegas is quickly turning into a new UNLV campus area with a number of new buildings for specific industry focus, study, and collaboration for various disciplines.
The original Black Fire press release set high expectations for the new center – promising a multipurpose space where UNLV, Caesars and partners could test new concepts within a mock integrated resort environment, providing a venue to showcase new innovations to industry partners, fostering a collaborative research environment and elevating student learning and entrepreneurship while training an emerging workforce. It did indeed sound like lofty goals
