Our 2025 forecast for brick-and-mortar gaming (no sports/online betting)
2024 was a difficult year of slow/no-growth for many gaming properties, especially regionals and more so Midwest regionals, and we expect much of the same for 2025. The YTD through 4Q-2024, shows only states with brick/mortar expansion and/or the addition of online casino and sport betting showing growth. Outside any Black Swan event, given the current economic circumstances forecasted into 2025:
- Our 2025 national forecast for brick/mortar same-store-sales is for a range of growth from low negative growth to slight/moderate growth (-2% to +2%) for 2025 versus 2024.
- Conversely, for 2025, total national gaming (including sports and online gaming as well as new brick/mortar jurisdictions) would help national growth to the +2% to +3% range.
