Affinity Gaming is on a winning streak these days thanks to a new direction for the company and a new CEO.
Located in the heart of the entertainment and gaming capital of the world, Las Vegas, Nevada, the company’s portfolio includes 11 properties (five in Nevada, three in Colorado, two in Missouri, and one in Iowa).
“Affinity Gaming is more than just another gaming company,” says CEO Michael Silberling. “We are a personable, loyal, and friendly company that shares a connection with each of our customers.”
Affinity’s Southern Nevada properties, including Silver Sevens, Primm Valley Resort & Casino, Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino and Whiskey Pete’s Hotel & Casino. The Colorado properties include the Golden Mardi Gras Casino, the Golden Gates Casino and the Golden Gulch Casino – all located in Black Hawk. In Iowa, the company operates the Lakeside Hotel & Casino. Their Missouri properties include the Mark Twain Casino and St. Jo Frontier Casino.
CEO Michael Silberling says the locals in all of those communities are top priority to each of his properties. “We pride ourselves on having a great clientele of repeat, local customers,” says Silberling. “That’s something we hope to continue building on as we grow as a company. Every employee at Affinity is committed to enhancing our guests’ satisfaction by building upon our relationships and offering high-quality service at a reasonable price. We are dedicated to delivering a value-oriented product in a convenient, welcoming, and casual atmosphere.”
The company is also committed to giving back to those communities. “We have a responsibility to support the communities that contribute to our business year round,” said Silberling. Affinity recently pledged to donate in excess of $100,000 to the Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest Chapter in 2016. The donation is the largest single corporate contribution to the Southern Nevada regional chapter.
Affinity continues to strengthen its management team, with the appointment of Walter Bogumil as Affinity’s Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in March of 2015; and the addition of Vincent Lentini as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer in 2014. Walter joins Affinity from Penn National Gaming. He has also held management roles at Microsoft, Walt Disney World and Sun International Resorts. Lentini joined Affinity from his previous role as Senior Vice President of Marketing for the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. He has also held senior level positions with Caesar’s Entertainment. He is credited with implementing a fresh marketing strategy aimed at elevating the brand though multi-channel integrated campaigns.
In late February, the company also welcomed Jeffrey Solomon as Affinity’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “We are fortunate to have an executive of Jeff’s caliber,” said Silberling. “Jeff’s breadth and depth of experience across a broad range of marketing and operating roles will be a valuable addition as we continue to improve the bottom line and look at other ways to create value for shareholders.”
Creating value for those shareholders doesn’t seem to be an issue. Recent earnings report
show double digit growth rates in overall profits with no signs of slowing down, and
with Silberling at the helm, Affinity’s continued success seems to be a sure bet!
